First Time Visitors

Going to a new church can sometimes be a confusing experience. We want to answer some of the most common questions people have when looking for a new church to join or visiting because you are out of town.

What do we believe?

Southern Calvert Baptist Church adheres to the Southern Baptist Conventions Statement of Faith which can be found here.

What is your Service / Sunday School times?

Sunday School starts at 9:30. You don't have to sign up or anything just ask one of our ushers and they will find a class that suits you. We enjoy seeing new faces in class!
Sunday School ends at 10:30 and Worship begins at 10:45. There is complimentary coffee, donuts, muffins, etc. in the Welcome center for all to fellowship around prior to Sunday School, between Sunday School and Worship and after Worship.

How do I get there?

We are located at 12140 HG Trueman Road in Lusby MD. If you are familiar with the area we are about .5 miles south of Sneade's Ace Hardware and about 2 Miles North of Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. We are on the new traffic Circle.  Traffic is not permitted to turn left into the church coming Southbound on HG Trueman Rd. Please continue through the circle and come in the side entrance. There is plenty of parking on our newly paved parking lot. Handicapped parking is in the front.

What about my Kids?

Like the adults, we have a Sunday School class for them also. The ushers will help the parents and kids to find the class set for their age group. After Sunday School if the Children are Kindergarten or above the parents will pick them up from class and bring them to worship with them. Pre-K and below will stay in their classes for worship and enjoy each others company with a few adults to watch over them. All our Nursery and Daycare workers have submitted to background checks and members in good standing for at least 6 months prior to them working with children and there are always at least two adults in every class. You can feel comfortable that your children are in good hands.

What do we wear?

There is no "official" dress code at SCBC. Some people come in shorts and a collared shirt, some in Jeans and a tee shirt others in 3 piece suits. Just keep it in good taste and respectful. We are here to respect and worship God.
